Designed for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals alike, these products promise to improve the way users interact with maps by combining functionality with visibility.

In a world where precision in navigation is key, WNDSN’s new offerings are crafted from durable 1.6 mm robust acrylic, ensuring longevity and usability. Unlike traditional transparent tools, these high-visibility instruments eliminate the frustration of using see-through rulers in inadequate lighting, allowing users to read scales clearly without second-guessing.

WNDSN map rulers and protractors stand out in the market due to their high-visibility design and robust construction. Shunning the traditional transparent designs, these instruments prioritize easy readability with their clear black-and-white contrast, making them ideal for outdoor use. The rulers are made from a durable sandwich acrylic that maintains the same quality as WNDSN’s Telemeters and Quadrants but at half the thickness. This innovative approach ensures that the scales are not only practical but also long-lasting, as they are engraved through the outer white layer, revealing the black inner core for enhanced visibility. As a result, users can rely on accurate readings even in low-light environments, significantly improving their navigational experience.

Many outdoor enthusiasts know the frustration of using transparent coordinate scales, especially when attempting to read them in insufficient light. It can be infuriating to place a see-through ruler on a map only to discover that you can’t see anything at all. The new collection features four designs:

  1. Military Square Protractor: Based on a custom model created for JTAC, this protractor includes degrees, back angles, MILs, and triangular coordinate scale cut-outs, complete with a pictogram to assist with magnetic declination corrections.
  2. Semi-Circle Protractor: This model omits MILs but offers extra scale rulers on the straight edge for enhanced versatility.
  3. Square Coordinate Scale: Featuring a large cut-out in the center, this design is engineered for convenient easting and northing calculations.
  4. Square Mini Coordinate Scale: At just 55 mm (2.25 inches) in side length, this miniature ruler fits easily into any wallet, ideal for quick lookups while on the move.

Manufactured in Germany using the same sandwich acrylic as WNDSN’s Telemeters and Quadrants, these rulers are designed with engraved scales that do not wear off over time, ensuring accuracy in every use.

For those looking to enhance their map-reading skills, the launch also coincides with the introduction of mini-courses and a companion calculator on Tycho, designed to facilitate easy conversions between map scale and actual distance.
